What Is Mini PC Barebone?

A mini PC barebone is a “naked” (i.e. unassembled) computer system with a mainboard, power supply unit, and cooling fan for the CPU. The case where such a device would normally be put into (the computer case) is sold separately.

Go to this article to find out more about barebones and how they may help you choose your next gaming rig: What is barebone?

It can be difficult to figure out which components go best in a mini PC barebone (for example, what type of motherboard or processor) because they are quite often not listed on most websites selling them. That’s why we have created this blog! In it, we will review all the different mini-PCs we have found and compare them to each other. The last section of this article is where you find a list with all the mini-PC barebone we have reviewed so far, as well as links to their respective articles, ordered by the manufacturer.

Just remember that mini PC barebones are totally customizable products. This means you can choose whichever components suit your needs best according to your budget. For example, if you want a very powerful computer for playing games but don’t need a lot of storage space then the motherboard should only feature an M2 slot (i.e. it’s PCI-Express not SATA-connected). If you want lots of storage space then go for a motherboard featuring both types of slots.

What Comes With A Barebones PC?

Along with the barebones computer, it is typical for a manufacturer to include some of the following items:

  • Motherboard manuals (if not provided by the motherboard itself)
  • USB flash drive containing motherboard drivers and utilities
  • Standard I/O shield for ATX form factor motherboards  (may or may not come with SFX form factor motherboards)
  • Additional SATA cables if there are more drives than what came with the power supply. Also, extra 2.0 USB cables are often supplied in case you are short on ports.
  • A small bag of zip ties may be included which provide cable organization inside your case. They help keep wires out of places where they can get snagged on something and break either the wire or something attached to it (such as a fan).
  • Some sort of instruction on how to get the motherboard drivers and software like an operating system up and running on your computer. This is often included on a USB flash drive along with any tools needed for putting in the CPU and memory such as a screwdriver.
  • If upgrading from another PC, instructions on how to transfer data from your old computer.  For some barebones computers like Gigabyte, this is actually built into the BIOS which can be seen by holding down Delete while starting your computer. You’ll want to do this before installing your operating system if you’re transferring over an existing setup so that you don’t have compatibility issues later due to different hardware not being recognized.
  • If upgrading from another PC, the old computer’s operating system disk may be included for use as an installation disk on your new barebones PC. Some computers like Gigabyte DO NOT include this since they expect people to already have windows installed or intend to purchase windows at a later date.
  • A CD with whatever proprietary software the manufacturer included along with drivers and other programs you may need such as anti-virus software especially if it required updating.  If you purchased a prebuilt computer, check the box that came with it before discarding anything! Some of these CDs are surprisingly easy to misplace!

5 Things You Must Know While Choosing The Best Barebones PC

If you’re planning on purchasing a new computer, there’s one thing that you need to keep in mind: barebones. This is not your average computer and it does not come with the standard components of a PC such as a motherboard and CPU. Instead, they come pre-assembled so all you have to do is install the operating system and start using it.

The best barebones PCs usually come as low as 50% cheaper than regular PCs because the manufacturer has already done some of the work for you. In order to help you out with this, here are 5 things that you must know while choosing The best barebones PC.

1. Don’t go overboard by buying too many features

If you want a simple but powerful PC, you should know that there are products that offer a lot of features even in their lower models. All you have to do is look at the components and then compare them with other barebones products in order to find out which one will suit your needs.

It is recommended to only purchase the barebones PC if you’re planning on upgrading it in the future because this will minimize costs overall. If you don’t plan on doing any hardware upgrades, make sure they check which type of components can be upgraded and purchased separately.

2. Know how much RAM memory your computer needs

When thinking about a new computer, most people think about things like CPU speed, screen size or weight. Unfortunately, when it comes down to it most people forget about one of the most important things: memory.

The fact is that if you have a poor quality computer, it will slow down over time because of this lack of RAM. In order to avoid this, you should make sure to check how much RAM your PC needs before purchasing it. This will help you determine whether or not you need an upgraded version from the ones already on the market.

3. It doesn’t hurt to check technical specifications

When shopping for a new computer there’s a good chance that you’ll be flooded with information and a lot of technical terms that can be confusing. Nevertheless, don’t let all these specs scare you off because they’re actually necessary in order for you to know what type of performance your product will offer.

In order to determine whether or not a product is right for you, take a look at the technical specifications and find out how you can compare them. Of course, it’s recommended to speak with someone who has experience when it comes to this because they’ll be able to help you understand what everything means.

4. Do your research before purchasing the best barebones PC

When shopping for any type of computer, there’s always that one question that pops into your mind: “Where should I buy from?” There are many stores on the market today and some offer competitive prices while others charge more than necessary. This doesn’t mean that you should purchase from the first store you see; instead, make to do some research and find out which store is the best for your needs.

By checking various stores you’ll get a better idea of how much products cost and you’ll be able to compare both products and prices according to what you’re looking for. This will help you determine whether or not a specific store offers good deals before even stepping foot inside it.

5. Avoid making any purchases during sales season

As with most types of products, there are multiple sales seasons throughout the year where popular stores offer big discounts on their goods. While this may seem like an opportunity that’s hard to pass up, try avoiding purchasing the barebones PC at these times because they’re usually overpriced during this time period. Instead, wait until after the sale has finished because chances are that the prices will be lower than before.

If you follow these tips, finding and purchasing the best barebones PC for your needs should be a lot easier. Remember to check out some of the technical specifications in order to determine whether or not it has everything you need, and always do your research before making any purchases online or outside shopping centers. With this knowledge at hand, chances are that you’ll get a great product without overpaying for things that were never advertised in the first place.

Benefits Of The Best Barebones PC

A barebones PC is a basic computer that consists of only the most essential parts required to run. Most companies that produce prebuilt computers will offer both barebones PCs and prebuilt versions, with some areas where customizing your own system usually gives you more options on the overall cost.

The following are 5 benefits to owning a barebones PC:

1. Easy Installation

When building your own computer, the average person generally does not have all of the necessary hardware or technical expertise to properly assemble it. As long as you know what you need in order for your computer to work (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.), assembling a barebones PC can be extremely easy if you’re wondering how do I build your own computer. After being built, the barebones PC should run without any troubles as long as there is a power supply provided for it to properly function.

2. Cost – Savings

Depending on which barebones PCs you are looking at, they can be very affordable and provide significant savings over preassembled computers by cutting out all of the unnecessary parts, such as speakers and a monitor. They also allow you to spend more money on your own custom parts instead of including them in the cost that you pay beforehand.

3. Upgradeability

Most people do not keep their computers long enough to see how often technology may advance or what new technologies could be best suited for their use. Instead of having to purchase an entirely new computer every few years, you can spend less by buying a barebones PC first and then upgrading it as technology improves.

 4. Exotic Customization

While shopping for the best deals on preassembled PCs is all well and good, not everyone wants to go with an average-looking computer. The minimalist design of barebones PCs often allows for better customization options than what would be available through most preassembled computers. This gives you the freedom to do things like paint or modify your case if that’s something that interests you.

5. Useful Accessories

When purchasing a new computer, many people will look at special features which are included with their purchase beyond just the standard setup. For example, some preassembled desktops include useful software packages or game packs to draw potential buyers to purchase them. Barebones PCs allow you to choose what features come with your computer instead of having some extras forced on you that may not be useful.

Even if you’re not looking for a barebones PC, many companies will offer them alongside their preassembled computers in order to give customers more options. If the idea seems interesting or if you’d like to save some money when purchasing your own PC, looking at barebones PCs would be beneficial to talk about in an article for personal use.

Wrapping Up

We have compiled a shortlist of the best barebones PC to help you find the perfect computer that will suit all your needs. The great thing about these computers is that they are customizable, so if one doesn’t tick off every box for you, take some time to change it until it does!
